Even more direct links to Seattle are back at YLW!
Alaska Airlines has announced they are bringing back year-round service to Seattle.
Following the confirmation that seasonal service to Seattle would return with Alaska Airlines earlier this summer, the airline has now confirmed flights will be year-round between Kelowna International Airport (YLW) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
Alaska Airlines will offer non-stop flights with connections to destinations across the Alaska Airlines network to destinations such as Hawaii, Chicago and LA.

WestJet today announced new daily service connecting Kelowna and Seattle beginning in January 2025. The route will unlock more seamless connectivity between the popular regions to a vast network of U.S. destinations through Seattle and beyond, through the airline’s longstanding partnership with Delta Air Lines.
Pacific Coastal Airlines announces new Kelowna - Prince George route
Pacific Coastal Airlines has introduced direct flights between Kelowna and Prince George, marking another step in their mission to enhance regional connectivity across British Columbia. Starting Oct. 28, this new service will operate six times a week, from Sunday to Friday, using reliable Beechcraft 1900 aircraft and providing travellers with more options and improved convenience.

Canadian airports kick off Safety Week
Today, Kelowna International Airport (YLW), along with 29 airports across Canada, kicked off Canadian Airports Safety Week, an airport-led initiative to promote healthy and safe work practices among airport employees.
From June 17-21, all airport staff, whether they are working in the terminal building or on the airfield, will have the opportunity to take part in safety-themed activities and events throughout the week.
Holiday travel tips from YLW
Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is anticipating another busy holiday season, with over 100,000 passengers expected over the next three weeks. Passengers are advised to plan in advance and prepare for longer than normal wait times at the airport, in order to reduce travel-related stress.
YLW anticipates increased, but steady traffic flow from Dec. 14 through Jan. 6. The busiest travel days of the season will be Dec. 21 through Dec. 27.

Call to Artists who have the Spirit of the Okanagan
The annual callout to Thompson Okanagan Artists to have the opportunity for a presence at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) in 2019 opens November 1 and runs to November 30, 2018.
All artists residing in the Thompson Okanagan area, from Kamloops to Osoyoos, are welcome to submit their work for the Art Kiosk in the YLW Departures Lounge. The Kiosk, branded “Spirit of the Okanagan,” is managed by Skyway Gourmet Ventures Inc. in consultation with Suk'ʷtəmsqilxʷ West Kelowna Arts Council (SWAC).

Aircraft standby at YLW
At approximately 10:40 a.m. today, Central Mountain Air flight 730 advised Kelowna International Airport (YLW) air traffic control that they had a mechanical issue and was required to return to YLW.
As a safety precaution, emergency response teams were dispatched to standby.
The aircraft landed safely at approximately 10:51 a.m. There was no disruption to scheduled flight service at YLW.

At approximately 10:23 a.m., a privately registered Cessna, advised the air traffic control tower of a mechanical issue.
As a safety precaution, emergency response teams were dispatched for the standby.
The aircraft with three people on board landed safely at approximately 10:42 a.m. There was no disruption to scheduled flight service at YLW.
