Construction Impacts - Airside Pavement Rehabilitation 2024

A multiphase airside pavement rehabilitation project is underway at YLW which includes upgrades to pavement surfaces of taxiways. Construction of a new taxiway has been completed as of July 2024.

Impacts:

  • Aircraft parking on Apron 3 will be limited. We encourage pilots to reach out to Shell Aerocentre (250-765-7776) for their aircraft parking needs.
  • All aircraft must have prior permission for parking on Apron 3 and must park in designated parking locations only.
  • VFR training circuits are not authorized from 08:00-12:00 and 15:00-18:00 daily.
  • Potential VFR training circuit delays and/or restrictions throughout the remainder of the day
  • Potential taxi delays throughout the day.

Drone Safety

YLW is a no-drone zone.

Drone and personal aircraft usage laws are strictly monitored and enforced at YLW. These laws help us ensure that we keep people and aircraft safe—at all times.

As of June 1, 2019, new Transport Canada regulations apply to all remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) operating in Canadian airspace. For more information, visit our Drones & Filming page.
