Kelowna to Las Vegas with Swoop

News release

Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is pleased to announce new service to Las Vegas!

Swoop will provide non-stop service from YLW to McCarran International Airport (LAS), starting June 27, 2019. Flights will operate Thursdays and Sundays until October 24, 2019.

“We are excited to announce a second destination with Swoop,” said Sam Samaddar, Airport Director. “We’ve heard from the community that they want more non-stop destinations from Kelowna. We’re pleased to have Swoop offer non-stop service to Las Vegas, which is the Okanagan’s single largest US market for travel.”

“We have confidence that Swoop’s flight to Las Vegas will be a welcome addition to the service provided from Kelowna International Airport,” said Karen McIsaac, Senior Advisor of Communications at Swoop. “Earlier this month I spoke with hundreds of attendees at the Spring Travel Show who expressed a strong desire for a non-stop option to Las Vegas. We’re thrilled to be able to respond with twice weekly service at fares that won’t break the bank.”

Beginning on May 24, Swoop will fly non-stop to Winnipeg three times per week. The addition of Las Vegas will increase Swoop service out of Kelowna to five days per week.

In 2018, passengers totalled a record-breaking 2,080,372, a 31 per cent increase or more than 486,700 passengers over the last three years. Since 2015, YLW has experienced unprecedented passenger growth, which is driven partly by expanded air service and flight connectivity, population growth, and economic activity in the region.

Flights are now available for purchase on Swoop’s website at FlySwoop.com.
