Holiday travel

Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is anticipating a busy holiday season. More than 150,000 passengers are expected between Dec 16 – Jan 3, with the busiest travel days of the season being Dec 19 through Dec 27.

Passengers are advised to plan ahead and prepare for longer than normal wait times at the airport to reduce travel-related stress. 

• Go online - Passengers are encouraged to check-in, pay fees and retrieve their boarding pass online from home to help speed up your experience at the airport.
• Arrive early - At least two hours before domestic flights. Leave plenty of time to get to the airport, check in, drop off any luggage and go through security screening. 
• Plan how you will get to YLW in advance - Parking will be limited over the holiday season. Guarantee a parking spot by using valet parking or consider taking alternate transportation to the airport such as taxis, shuttles, transit or have a friend drop you off.
