YLW’s first redeye flight takes off!

News release

This morning marked the first WestJet redeye flight from Kelowna International Airport (YLW) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

The debut flight departed Kelowna at 12:05 a.m. and landed in Toronto at 7:15 a.m., just in time to catch one of more than 180 WestJet-operated and airline partner flights to destinations around the globe, including over 55 daily destinations throughout eastern Canada, the United States and Europe.

“This service greatly increases connectivity options for travellers,” said Sam Samaddar, Airport Director. “It’s a great opportunity for our passengers to easily explore a number of destinations around the globe.”

This is the second daily flight from Kelowna to Toronto that WestJet offers passengers.

“The addition of a second daily flight between Kelowna and Toronto demonstrates our commitment to offer Canadians more flights and great service for their travel dollar,” said Lee Lipton, WestJet Director, Network and Schedule Planning. “We thank our Okanagan Valley guests for their loyalty and support over the past 21 years and look forward to welcoming them on board this new service this summer.”
